11:00-13:00 at Perronet House Community Centre, Elephant & Castle, SE1 6JS (Google maps) An opportunity for LBKA members to learn proper swarm prevention methods and to learn queen rearing techniques.
The venue is Perronet House SE1 6JS, Elephant & Castle, opposite Bakerloo Line station exit and half a minute from Northern Line exit.
Sat 11th & Sun 12th April: Introduction to Beekeeping Course10:00 - 16:00 each day at Mudchute Farm E14 3HP (Google Maps) LBKA Members are encouraged to participate and assist in the delivery of this course.
Tuesday 14th April: Queen Rearing (Theory Workshop)19:00 - 20:30 at Online (via Zoom) Ahead of May's practical workshop, a theory session on Queen Rearing will take place. A link to the Zoom meeting will be shared by email 24 hours in advance. Please register your interest using this link on Eventbrite. This event is open to LBKA members only.

Sunday 10th May 2026: Queen Rearing (Practical Workshop)11:00-13:00 at Brockwell Community Greenhouses SE24 9BN (Google Maps) May's monthly member meeting will be a Queen Rearing Workshop, led by Sharon Bassey. This is to encourage everyone to raise their own queens and overwinter bees and nucs of their own.
We will be showing you how to assess your colonies, raise drones, and how to prepare an Apidea. We will show a mixture of queen rearing methods which is attainable by everyone and some more complex methods. Please attend the theory session ahead of this on 14th April, for more details and to secure your place, please "reserve your spot" on Eventbrite (note this is not a public event, open to LBKA members only).
